Spelling Test

Kellen did something really awesome last night. He was animatedly talking to me as we were eating dinner. I was only understanding that he was talking about something that scared him, as when he is scared he talks faster and faster and his words are all jumbled together so that he isn't intelligible.
Our conversation went like this:

Me: Are you talking about Oliver?
Kellen: No, A-R...
Me: Ohh! Arthur?
Kellen: Yes!

Isn't that cool? When I didn't understand him, he began to spell it. My hope for 2007 and beyond is that he can learn more and more strategies that will support his communication with others. I feel that if he can make himself understood, he will be able to improve his relationships with others and by improving his relationships, it can only enhance his enjoyment of life.
