Being Kellen's Mom and Dad takes a lot of creativity, patience, cunning and good old negotiation skills. Take for instance the conversation we had while camping last summer:
Mom: Kellen, we are going to have breakfast at a restaurant today.
Kellen ( with joy): Denny's!
Dad: No, we are going to go to the Apple Cup Cafe.
Kellen (a little forcefully): Denny's!!
Dad: Don't you want sausage, bacon, toast and orange juice?
Kellen: Denny's!
Dad: No, we are going to go to the Apple Cup Cafe. They have breakfast too. They have sausage....and bacon...and eggs....and toast....all the things you like.
Kellen: Denny's!!
Mom: Okay Kellen, let's go to Apple Denny's.
Henceforth, our favorite restaurant to go to while camping at our favorite lake is now referred to in the Reimer family as Apple Denny's.
