Euphemism

Euphemism: an inoffensive or indirect expression that is substituted for one that is considered offensive or too harsh

synonyms: delicacy, floridness, grandiloquence, inflation, nice Nelly, ornateness, pomposity, pretense, purism

We love words in our family. One of our favorite things to do is take a simple word and make a big long "government talk" type phrase out of it. This morning as I was helping with breakfast I said to Sweet Husband, "I think it's time for Kellen to engage in a hygienic water opportunity." Translation: bath.

I crack myself up.

But wait! You don't say what Kellen's response is to this delightful euphemism? Surely he has some euphemisms of his own ...
