My Future's So Bright...

Kellen has a love affair with sunglasses. He wears them every chance he gets. We're working on having him take them off when he is indoors, but we're not always successful. Often times we'll be walking into a dimly lit restaurant and I'll look over and notice that he has his sunglasses on. When this happens, we start quietly referring to him as "our little blind boy".

Last year was Kellen's big transition to high school. The first day was for ninth graders only, but on the second day all of the students were back. Getting off the school bus, Kellen gave his paraeducator the slip and he was lost in a sea of students. He was missiing for more than a few minutes and Mr. Campbell started to get worried. Just then there was an announcement over the school office's public address system, "We have a blind boy in the office..."
